It will be a company that has excelled in providing or arranging cleaning services for a significant project and/or contract. The overall solution/service provided will be in response to a specific need/requirement, showcasing innovation and a strong sense of bottom-line deliverables.

The award for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year will go to the company operating in the facilities management sector that can demonstrate the best active CSR programme. The winning CSR initiative will be one that contributes to the welfare of local communities, to the development of the company’s employees and the enhancement of the company’s reputation. The CSR initiative must have been active in the last 12 months.

The award for Education & Development Initiative of the Year will go to the project that makes an important contribution to its surrounds, demonstrates FM best practice and can show how FM techniques and technology have contributed to the project’s success. The majority of the project work should have been brought to completion between March 2016 and April 2017. The award will be presented to an organisation dedicated to the ongoing promotion of education and training initiatives and information dissemination vital to the ongoing development of the industry.

The award for Engineering Service of the Year will go to the company that demonstrates the best record of progress and service delivery by its respective Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) division. The winner of the award will be a company that has excelled in within its active MEP operations, developed and/or implemented the latest cutting-edge technologies and practices, as well continuing to advance the technical proficiency of their employees.

The award for Facilities Manager of the Year will go to the person that has made an important contribution to the FM industry. From positively impacting a company’s bottom line, to ensuring a building is effectively run with sustainable practices in place. The winner will be on the company’s payroll (not outsourced), and be able to prove they have shown initiative, innovation, implemented best practice and reduced costs within an organisation to reflect a successful operation.

The award for FM Consultancy of the Year will go to a consultancy that can demonstrate the best record of delivering innovative, original and consistent expertise on projects. The consultancy will have a good standing in the industry, and be known for its commitment to value addition and innovation, thereby playing a vital role In the overall development and bench-marking of the industry against the highest international professional standards.

The award for FM Executive of the Year will go to the senior executive of a leading FM company who can demonstrate the greatest impact on his/ her FM-related business in the last 12 months. The winning executive could be a CEO, managing director, general manager, related deputy, or someone from a ‘C’ suite role. Their company may be operating in any part of the FM sector, be it as a waste management specialist or as an integrated FM provider. The award seeks to honor the executive who has become a role model for others in the industry to follow.

The award for Health and Safety Initiative of the Year will go to the company, operating in the FM sector, which has delivered the best health and safety initiative in the GCC. The winning initiative will make a positive contribution to the advance of health and safety consciousness in FM, while also demonstrating clear practical applications and results. The health and safety initiative must have been active in the GCC between March 2016 and April 2017. The award will recognise best compliance of health and standards, notable and verifiable improvements in health and safety track records, and the ongoing development and implementation of standards through training, accreditation and/workshops.

The winning company is well-respected, with a solid reputation among customers and the industry as a whole. The award for Sanitation & Waste Management Company of the Year will go to the company that can demonstrate the best record of progress and delivery for its clients, while maintaining an exemplary HSE record and showing signs of commercial strength and growth. The winning entry will be drawn from companies that have showcased innovative solutions and/or services for the critical area of sanitation and waste management. Logistics, technological development and service delivery are all important elements of success in this category.

The award for Sustainability Initiative of the Year will go to the company, operating in the FM sector, which has delivered the best sustainability initiative in the GCC. The winning initiative will make a positive contribution to the advance of environmental considerations in FM, while also demonstrating clear practical applications. The sustainability initiative must have been active in the GCC between March 2016 and April 2017. The award acknowledges efforts made by companies and organisations to reduce their carbon footprint through corporate social responsibility, energy and water reduction, recycling or procurement practices, and thereby contribute to a better quality of life for all through more sustainable communities.

The award for Technology Implementation of the Year will go to the company that has successfully incorporated technology into its infrastructure and core services. The winning entry will be drawn from companies that have utilized technology to streamline and enhance their current service offerings, mitigate costs through sustainability, as well as introducing innovative and ground-breaking solutions to their respective clientèle. The implementation should have been brought to completion between March 2016 and April 2017.

The award for Unsung Hero of the Year will go to the person who has made an impression through his/her work in the FM industry. This award seeks to honor the unsung heroes of the FM industry—be it the security personnel who patrol a facility all through the day to keep it safe and secure, or the cleaners who ensure that the floors remain spotless all the time, we want to highlight the workers of the FM sector who are responsible for maintaining the level of service in this industry at extremely high standards.

The award for Young Facilities Manager of the Year will go to the person that has made an important contribution to the FM industry. Open to facilities managers aged 35 and under who have added value and actively contributed to a successful facilities management operation in any sector over the past 12 months. Evidence needed: Proof of age and evidence detailing the contribution(s) made to the company during the last 12 months.
