The award for Customer Service Initiative of the Year will be presented to the organisation that has launched the best program to serve its customer/ end user base, in order to improve satisfaction of the end user. This award is open to services for non-government users only, ie the customer service initiative must be business- or consumer-facing only. The winner will be selected based on innovation, functionality and response to the initiative, and any quantifiable improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction. Any customer program launched by government organisations in KSA. Nominations should state: Who is the end user of the service? What activity the service governs? What are the benefits of the service to the users? Statistics on number of users, % improvement achieved and so on will be helpful. Feedback from the customer (ie Happiness Index score, user reviews) will also count in favour of the nomination.

This award will be presented to the best joint initiative between a KSA government entity and a private-sector organisation. The nominated initiative should be a standalone project with joint investment of funding, resources or expertise from both parties (a simple IT supplier deal or IT project is not eligible for this award). It should also provide some benefit to the wider community or business environment. The winner will be selected based on the benefits delivered by the project and innovation in delivery of the project. The initiative should be a standalone project with joint investment of funding, resources or expertise from both parties. The nomination should explain how the organisations worked in partnership to achieve its aims. A private organisation selling a solution or service to a government organisation is NOT ELIGIBLE. The project should provide some benefit to the wider community or business environment.

The award for Smart City Initiative of the Year will recognize the best program or initiative undertaken in the smart city arena, including public safety, energy, transport, communications, sustainability, health, education and other ‘smart’ systems. The winner will be selected based on the potential benefits, innovation, functionality and practicality of the project. The winner will be selected based on the benefits, innovation, functionality and practicality of the project. Projects must currently be live and serving their end user, not planned or incomplete projects. The project should have a clear goal in terms of quality of life in an urban, municipal environment.

The award for the Corporate Social Responsibility Project of the Year will recognise initiatives undertaken by government organisations in KSA, to benefit the wider community (disadvantaged people, youth, elderly, environment etc.) Projects must be outside of the official remit of the organisation, and should involve voluntary investment of the organisation’s resources or staff in charitable activity. Projects must be outside of the normal remit and activities of the organisation, ie a healthcare organisation holding a health issue awareness drive is not eligible. Projects should involve voluntary investment of the organisation’s resources or staff time in charitable activity.

The award for Government-to-Business Service will recognise the best online government service which is serving business users. The winner will be selected based on the ease of use, design and functionality of the service, uptake and performance and efficiency improvements it has realised. The award is open to any G2B online service from government organisations in KSA. Nominations should clearly state: Who is the end user of the service ie a particular government sector, business community? What activity the service governs? What are the benefits of the service to the users? Statistics on number of users, % improvement achieved and so on will be helpful.

The award for Government-to-Customer Service will recognise the best online government service which is serving consumer/public users. Only public-facing services are eligible. The winner will be selected based on the ease of use, design and functionality of the service, uptake and performance and efficiency improvements it has realised. The award is open to any G2C online service from government organisations in KSA. Nominations should clearly state: Who is the end user of the service ie a particular government sector, business community? What activity the service governs? The award for G2G Service will recognise the best online government service which is serving government-to-government users, ie internal services that are not accessible to public or business partners, only other government organisations. The winner will be selected based on the ease of use, design and functionality of the service, uptake and performance and efficiency improvements it has realised. The award is open to any G2G online service from government organisations in KSA. Nominations should clearly state: Who is the end user of the service ie a particular government sector, business community? What activity the service governs? What are the benefits of the service to the users? Statistics on number of users, % improvement achieved and so on will be helpful.

The Government IT Leader of the Year award is presented to the government chief information officer or the holder of an equivalent role who can show that they have not only excelled in terms of technology but also delivered tangible business benefits to the organisation for which they work, innovation in the use of technology and alignment of the IT department with the aims of the government organisation. This award is open to all IT department heads or leaders working in a KSA government organisations. Nominations should show that the individual has: excelled in terms of technology expertise, and achieved relevant certifications in technology demonstrated this expertise in the use of IT in their organisation played an active role in recent IT projects for their organisation promoted IT as an enabler for their organisation participated in ongoing skills development or certification participated in wider industry activity ie End User Groups, industry bodies, CSR programs Leadership and development of their IT team Alignment of the IT function with the organisation’s wider goals

The award for Government Mobile App of the Year will recognise the best government service available as a mobile application, based on the uptake, ease of use, design and functionality of the app. The award is open to any mobile app from government organisations in KSA. Nominations should consider: a link to the app on the Apple/Google/Microsoft/Blackberry app stores as appropriate. Including information on which platforms it is available on, number of downloads so far, number of revisions/updates, and number of transactions made via the app is also helpful Review scores from the app store can also be included.

The award for Green IT Initiative of the Year looks for innovative uses of ICT to further the green agenda in the government sector. This category is intended to recognise the best program or initiative, which aims to use ICT to improve the environmental credentials of the organisation or its stakeholders. This award is presented in recognition of an initiative that has a positive environmental impact in areas such as eliminating paperwork, cutting carbon emissions, saving energy or reducing travel. Nominations should: Explain the green goals of the project Quantify achievements made

This award will be presented to the KSA government entity for a project or projects which have shown innovation and imagination in creating a service or project for the benefit of its end user audience. Any government entity is eligible to nominate, and the winner will be selected based on the quality and success of the service, understanding of the target audience’s needs, the benefits delivered to the target audience, and innovative and imaginative thinking in the use of technology. Innovative and imaginative thinking in the use of technology are the main criteria, rather than scale of the project or complexity of solution.

The award for the IT Application Project of the Year will be presented to the KSA government entity, which has completed the best deployment of an internal business application. The award will be judged based on the benefits delivered by the application, and innovation and efficiency in deployment. Only finished deployments are eligible for this award, not projects in progress. Nominations should consider: Goals of the project and progress towards achieving those goals Quantifiable benefits delivered by the project Projects can be new implementations or major upgrades Only finished deployments are eligible for this award, not projects in progress. Projects should have been completed or had major go-live or major upgrade go live within the last 12 months. Any projects older than that will not be considered.

The award for the IT Infrastructure Project of the Year will be presented to the KSA government entity, which has completed the best deployment or major upgrade of IT infrastructure to support its operations. The award will be judged based on the benefits delivered by the new infrastructure, and innovation and efficiency in deployment. Only finished deployments are eligible for this award, not projects in progress. Nominations should consider: Goals of the project and progress towards achieving those goals Quantifiable benefits delivered by the project Projects can be new implementations or major upgrades Only finished deployments are eligible for this award, not projects in progress. Projects should have been completed or had major go-live or major upgrade go live within the last 12 months. Any projects older than that will not be considered.

The award for the KSA Government IT Department of the Year recognises the organisation in KSA, with the best overall IT department. This award is presented based on the expertise, commitment and achievements of the winning IT team. Awards for team achievement should include details of achievements of the team including projects completed, certifications gained and so on. Projects completed in the past 12 months Adoption of new technologies and development of new expertise How the team works with the wider organisation to meet organisational goals and build the profile of IT Staff development in continuing education/skills development, nationalisation, participation in CSR programs Challenges overcome by the team such as budget constraints or tough timelines Awards won by the team

The Young Government IT Professional of the Year award will recognise the achievements of a young person working in the IT industry in the public sector today. The judges will consider academic and professional certifications, involvement in innovative projects, commitment to further development and examples of professional achievements. Young IT professionals (under 35) may nominate themselves, or organisations can choose to nominate members of their staff that stand out as young achievers.
